Holidays Lofoten 2025
Back in June holidays with Maria in Lofoten, nice trip for about 9 days! As I am also getting some days older below a reminder to myself on where we traveled again… Circles indicate spots we traveled, houses indicate, well, houses 😊 and the crinckly line is the path we traveled with the clunky car.
Day 1: Narvik
Picked up our clunky car, arranged through https://www.narvikrentacar.no/, even though we had some troubles with the car owner helped us out well enough & cheapest option around!
Narvik is shit, we’d consider starting out in Tromso instead.
Day 2-3: Senya
Drove to Senya, stayed at Norwegen Wild, https://norwegianwild.no/, highly recommended!!! Day trips to Anderdalen national park (first set of pictures with the marshland, bring waterproof boots!) and Segla mountain. For the Segla mountain, go for the Hesten mountain for the coolest views.
Had some amazing views from our cabin…
Day 4: PUFFINS!!!
With the ferry to Andenes, make sure you get there on time!!! We traveled on a Monday, so relatively quiet, but even when getting there 3 hours early the line filled up pretty quickly. Still: doable and worth it! Tried a hike there, but it was Norwegian style only (> 45 degree slopes, with ropes & shit). Still nice views 👌.
Stayed at a fishermans camp / hostel / old military camp. If you like fishy smells & lots of Russians, it’s heaven. Otherwise: It’s OK & clean. Next day we watched some puffins I believe (& a space ship launch pad!!!)… Oh yes and some eagles that were trying to eat the puffins.
Day 5 – 7: Kabelvag
Long trip down south, to Kabelvag. Skip Svolvaer, it’s shit, full of hotels and cruise ships, Kabelvag is much nicer! Stayed at “Smevik AirBNB” with Lone, recommended!
Did a trip to Henningsvaer as well, pretty cool, with the world famous soccer field!
Day 8 – 10: Reine
And finally all the way to the end!!! (well, the end of the E10, there are still some islands left…). Stayed in a (heavily) refurbished fisherman’s house here-ish! In the video it’s one of the ones close to the kayak dock. Did some great kayaking here with Reine Adventure , plus hikes around A and Kvalvika Beach. Got ambushed by seagulls, lost my pricey Norwegian Kanelknuter…
